Welcome to gismac.  I have been thinking about doing this site for about two years now and I think 2010 (pronounced 20-10) is the right time to do it for the following reasons:

  • I miss writing
  • There are more Mac users than ever before
  • There are more GIS users and neogeographers than ever before
  • I have been looking for a challenging new project
  • I have learned a lot about GIS on *nix platforms over the past three years

Here we go!

  • Another reason I decided to do this blog is the recent advent of modern, threaded commenting systems to facilitate useful and interesting discussions. You can login to DISQUS using OpenID, twitter, or facebook. As soon as DISQUS implements Google Friend Connect I'll add that along with Yahoo! sign-in.
